Way back in 2021, Sony (you know, the big entertainment folks) bought Crunchyroll. It was kinda obvious this would lead to some shake-ups in the anime streaming world. We've been watching Funimation shows slowly but surely disappear from the platform and head over to Crunchyroll. The official closure of Funimation just makes it all feel kinda real.

Crunchyroll has a sweet library of both subbed and dubbed shows, plus some cool extra features like watching offline. Who knows, maybe now that they're extra powerful they'll add even more features!

It's Still Kinda Sad Though…

Sure, it's easier to keep track of everything on one platform, but we gotta admit, it's the end of an era. Funimation brought anime to the masses in the West, and they really got the whole dubbing thing right. Those forums were buzzing with passionate fans, and it felt like a true community.
